What they are
Omarchy is DHH’s Arch Linux and Hyprland setup, and its fourth version opened the desktop shell to plugins. Between September 18 and October 1 I published ten of them as open source. Nine are listed on the community marketplace at plugins.omarchy.org.

Why I built them
My mobile dev box is a 2015 Surface Pro 4 running Omarchy. Most of these started as something I wanted on that laptop: knowing why an app crashed without opening a terminal, or getting warned before the battery dies instead of after. With AI coding agents doing most of the typing, all ten were public within two weeks of the first.
How they ship
Every plugin has tests. Every marketplace submission goes through a bot that validates the exact commit and runs a static security check, and then a maintainer approves the listing.
The review sent several of mine back. Some read command output with no size limit; one passed text from a crash record into an AI agent’s prompt. Each fix became a rule in a hardening checklist that every new plugin passes before I submit it.
What they do today
By October 1 the nine listed plugins had 123 copies, 873 views and 15 hearts on the marketplace. A copy is someone copying the install command. Crash Desk is the most copied, at 37; Theme Clock has the most views (251) and hearts (7).
