How fast should you upgrade to Firefox 1.0?

Originally published in: red66.com

Firefox 1.0 is finally out. As usual I upgraded to the latest-greatest version asap. And as usual with Firefox, now most of my extensions don’t work.

This is the one thing Firefox needs to get straightened out. I’m not sure how different Firefox 1.0 is from the 1.0 RC version, or whether this is Firefox’s or the extension developer’s fault, but it gets old after a while.

What really makes Firefox stand out from the other browsers is the great extensions available for it, so having to live without them for a couple of days (or weeks) until all the extensions are made 1.0-compliant is a major bummer.

Anyway, if you want to upgrade to Firefox 1.0 wait a couple of days for the download craze to subside. And when you do, use the .torrent file - you’ll download faster and earn geek points!
